Rum distillation process
1. Fermentation: Sugarcane juice or molasses is fermented by yeast to produce alcohol.
2. Distillation: The fermented wash is distilled in pot or column stills, separating the heads, hearts, and tails.
3. Aging (optional): Rum is aged in barrels to develop flavor and color
4. Blending (optional): Different rum batches may be blended to create a consistent flavor profile.
5. Bottling: The rum is diluted to the desired proof, filtered, and bottled.
